The fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League, VIVO IPL 2021 is scheduled to commence from the 9th of April 2021 to the 30th of May 2021. Like every year, eight teams will be contesting for the trophy in the 60-match league. The IPL which was moved to the UAE last year owing to the COVID induced lockdown is now back in India.
All the 60 matches of the IPL 14 will be played in 6 venues across India namely, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, M A Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, and Eden Gardens, Kolkata. BCCI has ensured the safety of all the stakeholders by arranging bio-secure bubbles and placing protocols. As of now, the games will be played without the audience on the grounds due to the increasing cases in India but a call on this will be made at a later stage keeping in mind, the conditions.
IPL 2021, a unique league that brings together some of the most talented national and international players and cricket lovers, will start with a clash between MI, the defending champions, and the most popular team of IPL RCB led by Virat Kohli. The finale on May 30th will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
